A team from International SOS recently travelled to Papua New Guinea to assess the country’s security situation. Earlier this year, a strike by the capital police set off citywide looting and rioting. The country also suffered from fuel shortages that caused significant disruption to air and road travel. Senior Security Specialist Rania Joudi and Security Specialist Jack Eddy also travelled to Bougainville Island to examine the operational environment as the prospect of renewed industrial activity increases.
