Supporting your Mental Health & Wellbeing Agenda

Providing employers with a comprehensive range of benefits for supporting employee mental health and wellbeing, including improved employee productivity and engagement, reduced absenteeism and presenteeism, reduced healthcare costs, improved employee morale and retention, and reduced risk of workplace accidents.

An increased awareness of how the workplace contributes to mental ill-health has turned Mental Health and Wellbeing Programmes from a nice-to-have to a true business need. Despite understanding the demand for and necessity of these programmes, it is often hard to know where to start.

Physical and mental ill-health can strike at any time. Addressing issues in the workplace is vital to ensuring employees are present and capable of performing their roles, and to reduce the rising cost of medical expenditure.

Taking a longer-term view, there needs to be a stronger emphasis on the whole person: on an individual's mental and physical wellbeing. This includes the management of lifestyle diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, respiratory disease and cancer. Integrated workplace preventative programmes can really help to build awareness and address the problem.
