International SOS this week vaccinated essential food workers across Western Sydney to help supermarkets protect their teams and continue to provide food for all Australians. In the first of its kind International SOS set up clinics at key distribution centres for workers.

The International SOS Group is the world’s largest provider of health and security services to business and individuals. Operating in over 1000 locations in 90 countries, International SOS teams are experts in the global response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In preparation and delivery of this crucial national task, the Government and Australian businesses are making use of the specialist expertise and capabilities of International SOS to deliver surge workforce capacity. Our services will help ensure operational readiness and successful delivery of this historically important mass vaccination programme.

International SOS has delivered large-scale vaccine programs in challenging environments around the world. Our programmes are clinically led by medical experts who are highly experienced in public health, vaccine safety and quality assurance.

In January 2021, International SOS was appointed to support the Australian Government to deliver its nationwide COVID-19 vaccination programme within the age care & disability sectors. In March 2021, the Department of Foreign Affairs entrusted the company to commence the vaccine roll out in Papua New Guinea for essential workers. In July 2021, they were engaged to support the vaccination of age care workers throughout NSW. Today they work with businesses across Australia to prepare to support Australia’s all-important COVID-19 vaccine roll out.

International SOS Medical Director, Dr Andrew Ebringer, oversees all elements of the company’s involvement in the vaccination roll-out in Australia.

Dr Andrew Ebringer, Medical Director, International SOS said:

We are wholeheartedly committed to supporting the delivery and administration of COVID-19 vaccine for all Australians.”

“International SOS has extensive experience in providing healthcare service support across the globe, in both urban and remote settings.”

“Delivering COVID-19 vaccinations to vulnerable populations in our community, including those in aged care and living remotely requires an experienced and compassionate understanding of that sector’s complexities. We look forward to working with Australian businesses and peak organisations to deliver the vaccine to all Australians.”

“We are proud and humbled to be part of this enormous public health project that is so critical to Australia’s response in 2021 to this pandemic.”

Ian Gilbert, Regional General Manager, International SOS said:

I congratulate COVID Taskforce head Lieutenant General John Frewen, the Australian business community and Government on its development of the COVID-19 vaccination programme, this is a landmark step in supporting Australia’s recovery."

“We are very proud to partner with the Australian Government, industry and business in the implementation of Australia’s COVID-19 Vaccine and Treatment Strategy, and are ready to assist wherever the roll-out requires us. We will draw upon over twenty years’ experience in Australia providing multi-disciplinary health services to our geographically dispersed population, to support a successful vaccination programme for all Australians.”

Since 1998, International SOS has provided medical services to governments, the private sector and aid organisations across Australia and in the Pacific region.

In Australia, International SOS provides remote healthcare services, pandemic preparedness and planning expertise, crisis management, infectious disease management and occupational health and safety programs.
